You do have the most brilliantly chatty and funny style. I was thinking about the main male character in The Guernsey Literary ... book and wishing that a relative of his lived in Savannah. But maybe not since he was rather short on words. Let us know how the Book Festival goes. Wouldn't it be fantastic if you were one day one of the authors and got to be looked after by a (hopefully Mitch or Colin-look-alike) volunteer yourself!Petehttp://couchtrip.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4160223532207347025.post-61867110395140401482011-02-18T10:05:00.708-05:002011-02-18T10:05:00.708-05:00Inslinger, now if only someone would send Colin Fi...Inslinger, now if only someone would send Colin Firth my telephone number...Gradhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17526750467742207099noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4160223532207347025.post-71421591709675585542011-02-17T16:38:09.341-05:002011-02-17T16:38:09.341-05:00Definitely Firth-worthy!! :) Loved this post. Yuk.

Annie, I find that I'm all gung ho when it comes time to volunteer, but when the day actually arrives, I want to be someplace else.

History And Women, I'm so glad you're here. I look forward to your future posts as well.

Shelley, you are really too kind, but now that you mention it, I like Colin Firth much much better. Oh, yes...much!! In fact, I think he is my scrumptious ideal of manhood and don't know why I didn't pick him instead of Mitt.

Stefanie, I guess I'll feel a little guilty not pitching in. No one ever thinks to say thank you for the things that go right, but they always put the boot in if anything goes wrong - even if you couldn't possibly have done anything to forestall it. Jumping in and saving the situation on the day when no one was expecting anything of you is much more effective.Annhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16966461711132186974noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4160223532207347025.post-56500659226766896522011-02-12T04:28:30.676-05:002011-02-12T04:28:30.676-05:00Bravo! And funnily enough I so nearly volunteered for our book festival but got cold feet when the description told me I had to be 'unflappable'. Alas, I am very easily flapped, and felt sure that it would be the event at which I was working where we'd have the heart attack victim, or the unruly drunk. That thought, plus the standard black t-shirt (in which I would look half-dead myself) were enough to stay my fingers on the keyboard....Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4160223532207347025.post-6383946713518875842011-02-11T20:30:02.217-05:002011-02-11T20:30:02.217-05:00Oh, Grad, I do love the way your mind works!
