Dewey's 24 Hour Read-a-Thon

Well, I am already into my stack which includes audio books so I can also run some errands.  This is the third time I have participated in the read-a-thon, which is a very good excuse to let dust settle, drink a great deal of coffee, and not answer the phone.  Hundreds of readers from all parts of the world are taking part in this unique event and I look forward to checking in with many of them and also to cheer them on.

Happy reading!

  1. Audio books - I like! Get things done and read a book. :) Any good snacks in there among the pages? Do tell - and keep reading! (Team Marquez)

  2. Dust? What dust?! No need to dust when there are books to be read!
Good luck with your reading today - I hope you have a great readathon!

  3. Buried...I took a break and made foccacia with kalamata olives, garlic, onions, and sun dried tomatoes I had in pantry. When out of the oven, topped with parm. The dough takes nothing to pull together. I continue to read.

  4. Tanabata, you are quite correct. I see no dust!! No dust at all. It's quite remarkable! (If you don't look, it is simply not there.)

  9. Listening to a book on audio is such a good way to participate in the event when errands call. I'm listening to volume three of Proust's Remembrance of Things Past while I drive to work each day, and it makes such a peaceful mood.

Thanks for checking in on me tonight, and happy reading!

  10. Shaina here with some read-a-thon cheer! I hope you've drunk just the right amount of coffee and have thoroughly enjoyed your audiobooks today. :) Is there one in particular that's stood out to you so far?

    Happy listening and reading! #rahrahreadathon

  11. Thanks to all my cheerleaders. I made it to about 3 a.m. There wasn't enough coffee on the planet to keep me up after that. But I had a great day of reading.

  14. I didn't know you were doing the read-a-thon! If I did I would have stopped by to say hi. I think you and I have the same thoughts regarding copious amounts of coffee!

  15. Stef, same here. I posted on your blog basically the same thing. But I think my 24 hour marathons are behind me. It might have worked in college but not so much after a certain age. But it was fun.
